Singapore, 28-29 October 2010

This inaugural 2-day workshop will examine pore pressure challenges in the petroleum industry, with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region. The Asia-Pacific region is an area of extensive opportunity and capacity for growth in oil and gas production. However, the complex and extreme pore pressures observed throughout the region represents a significant hazard for drilling, exploration, completions and production.

This GTW will consist of presentations, dynamic discussions, exciting cross-disciplinary perspectives on new developments and applications in pore pressure prediction and other related issues, with an emphasis on case studies in the Asia Pacific region.

Eminent speakers will include:

  • Richard Swarbrick, GeoPressure Technology, UK (Keynote Address)
  • Nader Dutta, Schlumberger, USA (Keynote Address)
  • Philip D Heppard, Conoco Phillips, USA
  • Brent Couzens-Schultz, Shell International E&P, USA
  • Ong See Hong, Geomechanics International, Australia
  • Andrew Buffin, Senergy, Australia
  • Neil Goulty, Durham University, UK
  • Peter Van Ruth, Woodside Australia

This workshop will be a great place for experienced geoscientists to discuss recent work, and published papers, and for young geologists to become familiar with the key pore pressure issues facing the industry. The event will focus on integrating geological, geophysical and engineering information.

FORMAT

The workshop will last two days, 28-29 October, consisting of presentations and breakout sessions where participants can discuss and investigate a specific theme that is of mutual interest. There will also be an evening icebreaker reception on Wednesday, 27 October and a group dinner on Thursday, 28 October.

The overriding focus is on the sharing of information in a highly interactive environment. Register today!
