Finally we have distributed the AAPG Publication Pipeline books to four major Universities of Bangladesh. It took quite a long time to organize this as Q4 2006 country suffered huge political unrest, put the level ” Geoscientists helping Geoscientists – Donated by Chevron through AAPG Publication Pipeline with the help of the University of Houston” on each book & journal as well as in the each box, sorted and repacked the books in new boxes. Bangladesh AAPG Student Chapters members did all the jobs. We only provided the logistic supports. I have attached few pictures of the activities.As faculty sponsor and on behalf of Bangladesh AAPG Student Chapters, I would like to thank all of you for your effort to ship these books to Bangladesh. Students and faculty will be highly benefited from these books.

Bangladesh AAPG Chapters are going to organize an AAPG distinguished lecture session on April 9 in Dhaka and Dr. Craig Shipp, AAPG DL is going to give the lecture. On this occasion where country’s geoscientists will be invited, the Presidents of the Bangladesh AAPG student chapters will inform the audiences about AAPG publication pipeline donation.

I am planning to attend the AAPG Long Beach convention and hope most of you will be also their. If so, we a have chance to meet again.

These students were sponsored by AAPG Asia Pacific region. During the conference they got the opportunity to attend technical talks, poster sessions, and meet AAPG leadership.
