Two Asia Pacific region members are represent of the region as a bulletin editors :


Awang Harun Satyana

Awang Harun Satyana, graduated from Geology Department of University of Padjadjaran, Bandung in 1989, has been 15 years in petroleum industry. He has been working for BPMIGAS (Government Executive Agency for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities, Republic of Indonesia) since 2002 as Head of Geology of South Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Eastern Indonesia Regions, Division of Exploration. Before that, he worked for PERTAMINA from 1990-2000 as Exploration Geologist for Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua areas, Division of Exploration, and from 2000-2002 as Sr. Regional Geologist for Directorate of Management of Production Sharing. Awang actively contributes papers, articles, keynote speeches, and lecturing courses. There have been 52 publications covering various subjects in geology and petroleum exploration presented and published in national and international conferences and journals, as well as in universities. He is a member of IAGI, IPA, FOSI, EAGE, and AAPG.

Chris Morley

Chris Morley is currently work for PTT Thailand, Bangkok. Previously he was an associate professor in the Department of Petroleum Geoscience at the University of Brunei Darussalam, a geologist for Amoco, Elf Aquitaine, and a lecturer in Aberdeen University. He has worked extensively on the structural geology of sedimentary basins and the impact of structure on sedimentation. His current areas of interest include deformation associated with mobile shales, the structural geometry and evolution of rift basins, the impact of fault segmentation and linkage on sedimentation, the integration of outcrop and subsurface structural geology, and the structural and tectonic evolution of southeast Asia. His key geographic areas of research include the East African rift system, the Baram Delta province, Brunei, and the Tertiary rift basins of Thailand.
